NOTE: Contact information is not traded at the event.
This way there is no embarrassing rejection or awkwardness.
In one night, you will sit down, one on one for between 7 to 12 (Five Minute Dates) (Note: This is our target, can be plus or minus). With this you will know if you want to continue a conversation with someone, beyond exchanging “Simple Pleasantries”, and see if there are “Deeper Mutual Interests” that go beyond just initial attraction.
Is a Five Minute Date enough time to know whether there is any chemistry?
Well, most studies show that we make a decision within 3 to 5 minutes, based on initial attraction/chemistry. Therefore, discovering if two people have initial Mutual Chemistry can help one know that there’s a connection, which might be worth exploring.
Here, at CatholicSpeedDating.ca you have a chance to start a relaxed conversation that goes beyond 5 words, in a setting that is Intentional & Faith Based. And then, you can take it from there.
Once you arrive at the venue you will be greeted, then sign in and the host will give you: a name tag (first name only), a selection card (with a CatholicSpeedDating.ca ID number that corresponds to each participant) and a pen.
Once all participants have signed in, the host will welcome all participants. The Event will begin with an Opening Prayer, and some of the “Faith-Based” question(s) will be answered (maximum time allotted 15 minutes), by the hosting parish priest. NOTE: these are the questions participants asked when they submitted their registration.
Following this, the host will give instructions, and your Five Minute Dates will begin.
Women will stay seated; men will be signaled (by the ringing of a bell) to rotate once the Five Minute Date is up. After each date, participants write "yes" or "no" to whether or not they would like to see that person again (on their selection card next to their dates corresponding ID number). The men then rotate, and another Five Minute Date begins.
Around halfway through your Five Minute Dates, we will have a small break where you can continue to mix-and-mingle – refreshments and finger food will be provided.
At the end of the event, you will submit your selection card to the host. If there is a “Mutual Match” (meaning they also picked you), contact information is forwarded to both parties by email.
